On Wednesday, May 6th, the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad received an official delegation from the Iraqi Manuscript House, affiliated with the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities. This visit was part of joint efforts aimed at preserving scientific heritage and rare manuscripts.<\/p>\n

The delegation included Mr. Redha Mahdi Jalab, Head of the Follow-up Committee, and Mr. Junaid Hamad Abdul-Razzaq. They conducted a field visit to the college library to review the manuscripts registered in the Iraqi Manuscript House’s records.<\/p>\n

The visit included a thorough inventory of the manuscripts under the college’s possession, along with a technical examination to ensure their proper preservation and compliance with established standards for the conservation of documentary heritage.<\/p>\n

This initiative reflects the College of Medicine’s commitment to strengthening its cultural and scientific responsibilities, not only in the academic and medical fields, but also in safeguarding Iraq’s cultural and scientific heritage through effective partnerships with relevant national institutions.<\/p>\n

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing this cooperation, given its pivotal role in preserving intellectual treasures and making them available to future generations in modern and secure formats, reflecting the depth of Iraq\u2019s scientific heritage and its leading position.<\/p>\n
