Dean of Baghdad College of Medicine Chairs the First Meeting of the Deans\u2019 Committee of Iraqi Medical Colleges and Inaugurates a New Meeting Hall at Nineveh College of Medicine<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Manea\u2019 Al-Alwany, Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad and Chair of the Deans\u2019 Committee of Iraqi Medical Colleges, chaired the Committee\u2019s first meeting for the 2026\u20132027 academic year. The meeting was hosted by the College of Medicine at the University of Nineveh in conjunction with its Silver Jubilee celebrations marking twenty-five years since its establishment.<\/p>\n

Held in a hybrid format, the meeting brought together deans of medical colleges from universities across Iraq. It was also attended by Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, President of the University of Nineveh; representatives of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq; and a number of academic and administrative figures.<\/p>\n

The Committee discussed key issues related to advancing medical education, strengthening academic standards, and meeting quality and accreditation requirements. The discussions also addressed the importance of aligning perspectives and expanding coordination and cooperation among Iraqi medical colleges.<\/p>\n

Prof. Al-Alwany emphasized that advancing medical education requires coordinated institutional action and genuine integration among medical colleges. He noted that the Deans\u2019 Committee serves as a national platform for exchanging expertise, addressing shared challenges, and developing strategic visions that contribute to improving academic programs and educational outcomes throughout Iraq.<\/p>\n

As part of the meeting\u2019s proceedings, Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Manea\u2019 Al-Alwany inaugurated the new meeting hall at the College of Medicine, University of Nineveh, in the presence of the University President, medical college deans, and participating academic figures. The hall represents a valuable addition to the College\u2019s academic infrastructure and will provide a dedicated venue for meetings and scientific and educational activities.<\/p>\n

Hosting the meeting at Nineveh College of Medicine gave the Silver Jubilee celebrations a significance extending beyond the commemoration of twenty-five years of achievement. It transformed the occasion into a platform for shaping a more integrated future, bringing together Iraq\u2019s medical college deans, advancing discussions on medical education, and opening a new space for academic dialogue and joint institutional work.<\/p>\n
