A National Seminar to Promote the Prevention of Violent Extremism<\/p>\n
The Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, organized an awareness-raising dialogue seminar in cooperation with the\u00a0Higher National Committee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism<\/strong>, entitled:<\/p>\n \u201cThe Role of Iraqi Universities and Colleges in National Strategies to Combat Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism: The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad as a Model.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n The seminar was attended by\u00a0Mr. Ahmed Naji Al-Shammari<\/strong>, Secretary of the Higher National Committee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism, who delivered an informative lecture addressing the importance of promoting a culture of peace and a sense of citizenship. He emphasized that confronting extremism is not limited to security measures, but begins with raising awareness and fostering moderate thinking within educational institutions.<\/p>\n Al-Shammari noted that universities and colleges play one of the most significant roles in combating extremism, given their direct influence on shaping young people\u2019s awareness, promoting critical thinking, and reinforcing the values of moderation and national belonging.
