On Iraqi Physician’s Day, we pay tribute to the minds that confront suffering through science, the hands that offer life a renewed chance, and the hearts that bear the concerns of humanity and remain steadfastly by people’s side during their most difficult moments.

At the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, we take pride in belonging to an esteemed academic institution that has educated generations of distinguished physicians—doctors who have combined profound medical knowledge with noble ethical values and upheld Iraq’s name through their expertise, competence, and dedication.

The greatness of this institution is continually renewed through the lasting impact of its graduates: a patient who regains health, a family that finds reassurance, a physician who fulfils professional duties with integrity, and an academic who passes on knowledge and experience to a new generation committed to carrying the mission forward.

On this occasion, I extend my sincere greetings and deepest appreciation to physicians across Iraq, to our esteemed faculty members who continue to shape this legacy every day, and to our students, in whom we see the promise of tomorrow.

To our students, I say: uphold the distinguished reputation of Baghdad Medical College through sound scientific knowledge, a vigilant conscience, and compassion that every person seeking your care can feel. The trust people place in you is a profound moral commitment, and the lives entrusted to your hands represent an immense responsibility.

Baghdad Medical College will remain faithful to its mission: graduating competent physicians and instilling in them the conviction that the noblest legacy a person can leave is a life protected, suffering alleviated, and hope restored.

May Iraqi physicians continue to be a source of pride for their nation and a pillar of support for its people. May Baghdad Medical College continue to write new chapters in its distinguished history through the knowledge, dedication, and humanity of its graduates.
