Developing legal awareness among state employees in a training course held by the College of Medicine
As part of the activities of the Continuing Education Unit in cooperation with the Government Contracts Division.
the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad held a training course entitled “Accountability of the Public Employee / Explanation of the State and Public Sector Employees Discipline Law No. 14 of 1991, as amended,” in the College’s Continuing Education Hall on Tuesday morning, the 7th of December.
The training material was presented by the college’s teaching staff, Dr. Salam Saleh Khamis, the assistant teacher, Noman Attia Jabr, and the assistant teacher, Qusay Jaafar.
The course, which was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammad Basil Ismail, aimed to educate employees, especially new appointees, about duties and responsibilities, raise legal awareness among state employees and push them to adhere to the duties assigned to them in implementation of the sustainable development goals of creating strong institutions.
The course included several topics, including a review of the positive job duties assigned to and the negative ones terminated by the public employee in accordance with the amended Law of Discipline of State and Sector Employees No. 14 of 1991, which is represented by combining two jobs and engaging in commercial business, participating in tenders and auctions, and using tools and means of transportation and others for special purposes, in addition to others are among the prohibitions contained in the law.
The organizers of the training course also referred to the penalties imposed on the public employee :
- drawing attention,
- warning,
- and gradually up to withdrawing the hand (job).
and methods of forming these penalties and inflicting them on the employee after he has committed the behavior that demands it, and how to remove the penalty and the impact resulting from the behavior that necessitates it, with a statement of the authority authorized to impose it.
