Terms and Conditions for Granting Free Scholarships in Bachelor Study (Undergraduate)

  1. Universities announce scholarship programs for non-Iraqi students on their official websites, wherein the conditions and controls for granting free study seats for primary studies are clarified. The application will be exclusively through those sites, starting from the date (3/15/2023) for the academic year (2023/2024), or through the Scholarships Department / links for universities on the department’s website.

  2. The channels for granting the scholarships are:

    • A. The scholarship channel in accordance with the programs, agreements, and protocols of cooperation with Arab and foreign countries.
    • B. The scholarship channel granted to the Association of Arab Universities.
    • C. Scholarship channel for Arabs and foreigners residing in Iraq.
    • D. Scholarship channel for non-resident Arab and foreign students in Iraq.
  3. The specialties are the responsibilities of the universities, provided that they are committed to allocating a percentage not exceeding (5%) from the admission plan for each major for each of the scholarship channels above.

  4. A maximum of (5%) of the admission plan is allocated for each major for each of the scholarship channels above, provided by the universities/colleges scholarships for non-Iraqi students.

  5. The age of the student applying for the scholarship (primary studies) shall not exceed (30) years.

  6. The minimum limits for admission to scholarships are as follows:

    • A. The medical group (medicine) at a rate of (85%), dentistry, and pharmacy at a rate of (75%).
    • B. Specializations of the Engineering and Nursing group at a rate of (65%).
    • C. Other scientific and human disciplines at a rate of (60%).
  7. The student submits his approved documents certified by the concerned authorities in his country and by the Iraqi embassy or attaché in that country. Public and private universities undertake procedures for the validity of issuance of student documents within a period of time not exceeding the first academic year.

  8. The Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations shall facilitate the procedures for granting entry or residence visas in cooperation with Ministries concerned for students covered by scholarships.

  9. Universities have the right to set additional controls or conditions for accepting non-Iraqi students, provided they do not conflict with these Terms and Conditions.

  10. After issuing orders that accept non-Iraqi students by universities, the Department of Scholarships & Cultural Relations and the department of Studies, planning, and follow-up provide copies of the names of foreign students accepted in the announced specialties to which they were nominated for the purposes of follow-up, auditing, and statistics.
