Goal of the Course
- Discuss the central and peripheral nervous system histologically and physiologically.
- Study some medical conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.
- Conduct a detailed study of the eye in terms of spasm, anatomy, and functions.
- Study the ear in terms of tissue, anatomy, and function.
Outcome of this Module
A. Cognitive and Theoretical Goals:
- Know the embryology of the nervous system.
- Know the histology of the eye, ear, and central nervous system.
- Know the anatomy of the central and peripheral nervous system.
- Know different functions of the different parts of both divisions of the nervous system.
B. Skills:
- How to examine the ear and the eye.
- How to do a proper sensory and motor exam.
- How to do the reflexes.
- How to examine the cranial nerves.

- Laboratory lectures (Anatomy, Physiology, and Histology).

- Formative assessment (web-based not marked).
- End module exam.
- Final practical exam.
- Summative Exam (written) - 40 marks.
