The design of the College's logo was created by Lady Elzy, the wife of the British doctor Sir Sanderson Pasha (the first dean of the College). She incorporated into the logo the symbol of the two rivers, the Tigris and the Euphrates, with their meeting point forming the Shatt al-Arab. On both sides of the rivers stands the winged bull (Lamassu), symbolizing the land of Mesopotamia—the cradle of the first civilizations known to humanity and one of the earliest places where medicine was practiced. The logo also includes a book and a serpent, which is a global symbol of medicine. This emblem embodies a civilizational and scientific vision that bridges heritage and modernity.
