Graduation Requirements

To obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery (M.B.Ch.B.), the student must fulfill the academic status which includes the following requirements:

  • Successfully pass the six academic years within the maximum permitted period of study.
  • Conduct a research project.
  • The final year contains only clinical training in four clinical sections and includes the written final examination and OSCE (objective structured practical clinical examination and oral examination) for the six-year program.

Based on the book of the University of Baghdad / Department of Student Affairs and Authentications No. Sh T / Kh / 3343 dated 4/22/2024 and attached to the book of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies and Planning No. T M3 / M N / 4178 dated 4/21/2024, which includes the cancellation of paragraph (5) of Cabinet Resolution (12) of 2020 regarding the granting of medical, health and nursing profession documents and the launch of the granting of graduation documents and certificates without restriction or condition to those appointed to the staff of the Ministry of Health and other ministries and those who have left work and are not appointed, and thus the previous circulars are cancelled.

Documents Required to Grant Documents:

  1. Photos, number (3)
  2. Photocopies of the civil status identity, residence card, Iraqi nationality certificate, or unified national card
  3. A photocopy of the passport

Documents Required to Grant Murals:

  1. A color photocopy of the passport

The graduate fills out a special form for documents available in the documents unit in the registration department.
