Our primary goal is to establish an academic environment within the College of Medicine that adheres to international standards, ultimately achieving global accreditation.

Structure of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division

The division comprises four units:

Performance Evaluation Unit Tasks and Duties

  • Monitor the quarterly and annual activities of the college branches and units, including conferences, seminars, discussion groups, workshops, supervision, research plan discussions, thesis defenses, research and book evaluations, authorship, publications in various journals, consultations, and community services by faculty members, and regularly report these activities to the university.
  • Prepare the college’s self-evaluation report for the academic year spanning from September 1st to August 30th annually.
  • Disseminate evaluation forms received from the University of Baghdad's Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, such as faculty performance evaluations and staff performance evaluations across all scientific branches, divisions, and units; ensure accurate data collection, standardization, and entry into the electronic forms on the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority website.
  • Compile the Dean’s performance evaluation file, focusing on senior university leadership performance.
  • Develop performance evaluation files for administrative faculty members.
  • Assemble performance evaluation files for teaching staff.

  • Oversee the distribution and analysis of student and faculty surveys to assess academic programs and courses, incorporating feedback from both instructors and students regarding the educational process.

Tasks and Duties of the Quality Assurance Unit

  • Implement the comprehensive quality requirements approved by the University of Baghdad and the educational quality management system endorsed by the university and the ministry, applying the necessary mechanisms for execution.
  • Prepare and monitor reports describing academic programs and courses for undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as course and program reports at the beginning of each academic year, including the college’s annual reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of academic standards, standard reference criteria, and various programs in coordination with the scientific branches and units within the college.
  • Monitor the development of the annual research plan by the branches and units affiliated with the College of Medicine.
  • Develop the five-year strategic plan for the College of Medicine and ensure its implementation in accordance with the improvement plan outlined in the college’s self-assessment report.
  • Organize periodic meetings with quality assurance representatives in scientific branches and units.

    • Provide Hepatitis B vaccinations for all medical students and laboratory personnel at the Blood Bank and Baghdad Teaching Hospital.
