Physiology and Medical Physics Department

The Physiology and Medical Physics department is considered one of the core departments in the College of Medicine. It teaches undergraduate students in the first three stages and postgraduate students in various specialties. It trains medical students on numerous essential skills required by future physicians. Over the course of 90 years, this department has conducted hundreds of applied medical research studies. Dozens of master's and doctoral students graduate from various branches of physiology.

It provides medical support services to clinical departments in all areas of medicine, such as neurophysiology, reproductive physiology, cardiac physiology, and pulmonary physiology. The Physiology department stands out from other basic science departments as its faculty consists exclusively of physicians, ensuring scientific rigor and guiding medical students towards the experience they will need in the future.

The department has organized numerous introductory seminars in various medical fields for the faculty and students to address general health issues. The faculty members have participated in dozens of courses and development programs to enhance teaching and medical skills, thus raising the academic level of the college and the university as a whole.

Physiology science is the foundation of all medical sciences. The department of physiology at Baghdad medical college looks forwards to be distinguished one through its scientific link with clinical sciences specifically internal medicine.
