In a scientific session organized by the network in collaboration with the College of Medicine, held in the Smart Hall of the Basic Sciences Building on the morning of Monday, the 16th of the current October, Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Ameen Al Alwany, inaugurated the prospects of academic cooperation with the Royal College of Physicians - London in Iraq.
The session was presented by Dr. Shakir Mahmoud Mohammed, a consultant in respiratory diseases, on behalf of the Royal College of Physicians - London in Iraq, in the presence of Dr. Amal Al-Marayani, a consultant in cardiology, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Waheeb, the head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad.
The session included two main topics. The first discussed the principles of chest radiography, its requirements, and reading steps. As for the second topic, it presented several respiratory diseases and their diagnosis based on X-rays.
The session aimed, in its organization, to inform the attendees, who were targeted at undergraduate and postgraduate students in the College, about the importance of using chest X-rays in classifying and diagnosing various respiratory diseases, including infectious and cancerous diseases.
This session is part of a series of scientific cooperation sessions planned to be organized with the Royal College of Physicians - London in Iraq and the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad.
