The College of Medicine adopts an awareness campaign in the field of public health.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the esteemed President of the University of Baghdad, the campaign aimed to educate the community about the serious effects of chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol, as well as the hazards of smoking.
Key Details:
- The campaign took place in the Baghdad Cultural Center on Mutanabi Street in Baghdad on the morning of Friday, the twentieth of October of this year.
- The campaign was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Ameen Al Alwany, the Dean of the College of Medicine, and attended by Professor Dr. Ghazi Farhan, Director of the Continuing Education Unit at the College, and the President of the Hypertension Association.
- It also had participation from a select group of faculty members and students from the College.
- The primary goal was to raise awareness about the detrimental health effects of high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol among individuals suffering from these chronic diseases.
- Additionally, the campaign highlighted the negative physical consequences of smoking.
- Free medical examinations were conducted, including blood pressure and sugar level measurements, for the attendees.
