The College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, organized, under the auspices of the Deanship of the College, the scientific workshop entitled “How to Identify Journals for Discreet Scientific Publishing.” It was presented in the College’s Continuing Education Hall by the teachers and researchers of the Journal Unit in the College, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Basil Ismail, and a number of From college teachers and postgraduate students this morning, Tuesday, the nineteenth of this month. The workshop aims to introduce the correct mechanisms for choosing a solid journal, to spare researchers from publishing in predatory, hijacked, or commercial journals, and to encourage them to submit more solid research contributions. The workshop included several topics: introducing the importance of scientific publishing, the correct selection of a journal, as well as how to know the reliability of a journal for publishing. These workshops come within the framework of the scientific progress witnessed by the college, especially in the research field, coinciding with its obtaining international accreditation.
