University President’s Visit to the College of Medicine to Attend a Distinguished Lecture within the Academic Staff Development Program

With the launch of the new edition of the Staff Development Program for the academic year 2025–2026, the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, hosted eminent medical scholars from the United States of America.

The visit of Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, President of the University of Baghdad, came as part of his continued support for the academic community and its pioneering role in the medical field.

This visit coincided with the reception of a U.S. academic delegation headed by Professor Aizen Marrogi, a renowned academic and expert in pathology.

Dr. Marrogi delivered a distinguished and comprehensive lecture that addressed various scientific, cultural, and historical dimensions, highlighting the physician’s role in society as a healer, teacher, scholar, and diplomat—reflecting the essence of medicine as a service to humanity.

The visiting delegation was received by Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwany, Dean of the College of Medicine. In his welcoming remarks, the University President expressed his full support for the College, commending its rich legacy and pioneering role in advancing medical education in Iraq and the region.

This visit and the accompanying lecture align with the strategic vision of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, which aims to remain the leading medical school in Iraq while sustaining its advanced academic standing regionally and globally.
