Importance of Education for Women
According to the steps of the national effort to implement the state's strategy regarding the empowerment of Iraqi women and gender equality, and in support of these efforts by the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, the Women Empowerment Unit in the college, in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Unit in the Iraqi Council for Medical Specializations, organized a seminar entitled "The Importance of Education for Women."
The seminar took place in the main hall of the Iraqi Council building on May 31, 2023, with the presence of a distinguished group of female professionals, headed by Dr. Hedef Dhafir El-Yassin, the coordinator of the Women Empowerment Unit in the college.
The aim of the seminar was to highlight the importance of education in society, particularly women's education, as a central element in building and prospering the community. Education is considered a fundamental aspect of empowering women and promoting them in various aspects of life.
The seminar also addressed various issues related to women's affairs and their social and humanitarian impact. It discussed the international conventions that obligate women's education, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that women's education is their fundamental right and one of the essential means to grant them greater capacity for a dignified life.
