Among the priorities of the new phase for a better medical future for future generations
Under the sponsorship of the Deanship of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, and within the activities of the Continuing Education Unit, and in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Division at the college, a scientific symposium was held entitled “Sustainable Development Towards a Better Medical Future,” presented by the college’s teaching instructor, Dr. Aseel Musa Jassim, in Al-Kindi Hall.
The symposium was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haifaa Salman Al-Hadithi, and a group of faculty and staff members of the College, this morning, Wednesday, the first of November of this year. -The symposium, which received great attention from the attendees, included several topics that included clarifying the concept of sustainable development, its goals, indicators, development problems and basic solutions, with an explanation of its relationship and impact on education and how to employ it in the medical fields. The workshop also presented the interrelationship between development and management.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the concept of sustainable development and introduce it, while reviewing its seventeen goals according to the United Nations, explaining how to achieve each of them, as well as focusing on scientific research and trying to benefit from it in confronting various crises in all fields, especially medical ones.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the floor was opened for discussion with the attendees, and it included one of the interventions in which Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani pointed out the necessity of relying on sustainable development goals and employing them in the scientific and administrative fields, as well as emphasizing that the college will witness the application of these goals in all units, divisions, and scientific branches in the college.
