As part of his field follow-up on the preparations of the scientific branches for the commencement of the new academic year 2026–2027, the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Manea Al-Alwany, held a meeting with the teaching staff of the Biochemistry Branch to discuss the branch’s current academic and educational status, as well as its development plans for the coming period.
The Dean commended the high academic standards achieved by the branch, particularly in the areas of scientific publications and research, as well as the notable progress made in the clinical training of undergraduate students. He emphasized the importance of continuously enhancing academic performance and integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications in order to strengthen students’ scientific competencies and skills.
The meeting also addressed the infrastructural development taking place within the branch, particularly in light of the upcoming relocation to its new building, which is equipped with advanced infrastructure and modern laboratories dedicated to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. These facilities are expected to provide a more integrated educational and research environment and further support academic and scientific activities.
The Dean further emphasized the importance of preserving these facilities and utilizing them effectively, while continuously developing the laboratories and the educational and research environment in line with the College of Medicine’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and supporting scientific research.
This meeting forms part of a series of meetings and follow-up visits conducted by the Deanship of the College of Medicine with its scientific branches at the beginning of the new academic year. These efforts aim to identify their needs, strengthen their existing areas of excellence, and support their academic and developmental plans.
