The Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Manea Al-Alwany, held a meeting with the members of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division to follow up on the workflow of the division’s affiliated units and discuss mechanisms for enhancing their performance in accordance with academic and institutional quality requirements.
The meeting addressed the operational mechanisms of the Performance Evaluation Unit and preparations for launching the evaluation process for the academic year 2025–2026. Emphasis was placed on the importance of completing all necessary requirements, data, and supporting documentation to ensure the accuracy and smooth implementation of the evaluation process.
The meeting also discussed the working mechanisms of the Programmatic and Institutional Accreditation Unit and followed up on accreditation requirements. In addition, the participants reviewed indicators related to Arab and Iraqi university rankings and stressed the importance of providing data and documentation that accurately reflect the College’s academic and institutional performance.
The meeting further discussed the establishment of a dedicated Laboratory Evaluation Unit within the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division. The proposed unit will be responsible for monitoring the status of the laboratories and evaluating them in accordance with approved standards. The Dean emphasized the necessity of retaining all documentation related to laboratories that have been rehabilitated and completing their relevant organizational requirements, including the installation of identification and informational signage for the laboratories.
The Dean also emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and systematic archives for all activities of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division and its affiliated units. This includes incoming and outgoing official correspondence, as well as documents, data, and records associated with the division’s work, thereby ensuring easy access to relevant information and preserving documented records of institutional processes, activities, and achievements.
