Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul Al-Alwani, the college organized a major celebration to welcome new students admitted to the college for the academic year 2023-2024, this morning, Thursday, the sixteenth of this November. The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Haider Al-Aboudi, Director of the Ministry’s Media, Professor Dr. Aqeel Shakir Mahmoud, President of the Iraqi Doctors Syndicate, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Dr. Haifa Salman Al-Hadithi. A number of heads and members of teaching staff in the academic branches and units and the head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, Assistant Professor Tariq Muhammad, as well as a group of students from the college’s academic levels, also participated in attending the ceremony. The ceremony, which opened with verses from the Holy Quran, included welcome speeches that praised the college’s long history full of achievements in the academic field, which produced an elite group of the best doctors in their specialties who served Iraq and countries around the world. The honorable ceremony also introduced new students to the necessity of adhering to the laws of the Ministry and the College and the instructions issued by them, while clarifying the responsibility of the student of this prestigious college in the healthy future of Iraq. The ceremony's program also included poetry poems submitted by students praising Iraq and its land, along with the experiences of a number of outstanding students in time management to achieve greatness. The ceremony included a celebration of the top three students in each academic stage, and a shield of thanks and gratitude for the generous visit of Dr. Aqeel Shakir Mahmoud and Dr. Haider Al-Aboudi, presented by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani

This meeting forms a part of the College's continuous efforts to update and synchronize its curriculum with the latest global educational trends and mandates.
