As part of the Staff Development lecture series launched by the College of Medicine – University of Baghdad last year, the college organized a lecture on October 2, 2025, entitled: “The Interactive Website of the College of Medicine (INLE): Realities, Challenges, and Prospects”. The session was presented by faculty members Elaf Ayyad and Shahad Mahjoub.

The lecture aimed to highlight the contributions of faculty members to the interactive website, introduce its activities, resources, and available support, and analyze user engagement and the overall effectiveness of the platform. It also presented strategies for activating and developing the website, with recommendations to ensure its sustainable use in supporting the educational process over the long term.

The speakers emphasized that the Moodle platform, which underpins the interactive website, is the most widely used e-learning management system globally, valued for its flexibility, adaptability, and scalability in medical education. Statistics were also presented on the website’s activities and resources since 2014, along with a call for continuous faculty training in modern educational technologies.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwani, Dean of the College of Medicine, stressed the importance of digital transformation and the need for faculty to keep pace with this vital shift. He affirmed that the College of Medicine serves as a pioneering model in this domain and as an exemplar for other academic institutions. He further underscored the importance of active participation in medical education workshops as a cornerstone for advancing academic and professional performance.

The session concluded with valuable interventions from department heads and faculty members, reflecting their commitment to enhancing the interactive platform and their dedication to strengthening the standing of the College of Medicine – University of Baghdad as a leading institution attuned to digital and educational innovations.
