Under the sponsorship of the Deanship of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, and within the activities of the Continuing Education Unit, and in cooperation with the Mental Health Office in Rusafa District, a lecture was held entitled “Methods of diagnosing and treating psychological disorders associated with children.” The scientific lecture was presented by Dr. Amir Abbas Ali Al-Hasnawi (Psychiatrist), and the psychotherapist, Mr. Imad Ali Al-Saeedi, on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the college’s large conference hall. The lecture targeted a group of college students, during which Dr. Amir reviewed methods for diagnosing psychological disorders and how to deal with them, outlining the most prominent skills used in psychotherapy, followed by practical training with the aim of relaxing and alleviating psychological pressures. The lecture aimed to raise awareness among college students and train them on methods of diagnosing psychological disorders and techniques for treating them. Dr. Al-Hasnawi stated that coordination is scheduled to continue to provide these lectures at the college periodically on Thursday of every week, in reference to the college’s interest in the psychological aspect and the resulting behaviors, especially since the target group is future doctors.
