The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hasan Manea Al-Alwany, on the college obtaining the full accreditation granted by the National Council for the Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq.
The honoring of Al-Alwany comes among a group of deans of medical and engineering faculties in Iraqi universities, in which these faculties obtained specialized program accreditation. It is noteworthy that the honoring of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research came on the sidelines of the launching ceremony of the Electronic System for providing international students with scholarships within the “STUDY IN IRAQ” program, whose activities were hosted at Al-Hakim Hall at the University of Baghdad, in the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Moneer Hameed Al-Sadi, and a group of elite Academic and scientific personalities, on Wednesday, March 15th 2023.
The launch of Electronic System by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was praised and welcomed by UNESCO, and representatives of missions and international organizations present at the ceremony, which described the initiative as being in line with the efforts of these international organizations.
