In implementation of the government program to implement policies, programs and training courses that contribute to raising awareness about legal issues among university students, the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad held a training course on discipline for Iraqi university students under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani, in the Al-Kindi Hall in the college this Thursday morning. Corresponding to the twenty-ninth of February. The course, which was presented by teachers from the College’s Legal Department in accordance with Student Discipline Instructions No. (160 - of 2007, amended by Instructions No. 169 of 2018), aims to educate students of the College of Medicine, especially first-year students, about the legal instructions and regulations related to student discipline. The lecture also stressed the importance of adhering to the internal regulations and orders issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and its university institutions, and avoiding everything that is inconsistent with university behavior to spare them from exposure to legal penalties that may reach the point of dismissal from the university. The course included three axes, the first of which included clarifying the actions prohibited for higher education students on campus by reviewing the legal materials and clarifying their interpretations for students, while the second axis dealt with clarifying the penalties imposed on students according to the law and their progression from warning to permanent dismissal, and concluding in its third and final axis, a statement of authority. It is entrusted with forming the Student Discipline Committee and its work tasks and powers in accordance with the law.
