On Wednesday, the sixth of March, a scientific workshop was held at the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, in coordination with the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialties, to learn about the latest developments in the field of pediatric urology, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Uday Taher Al-Hashemi and a group of teachers and board students. The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Ashraf Hafez, a lecturer from Mansoura University in Egypt and a fellow in pediatric urology at the University of Toronto, Canada, who was welcomed and honored by the Dean of the College on the sidelines of the workshop. The holding of this event comes within the framework of enhancing joint scientific cooperation between Arab academic institutions and seeking to conclude official agreements to train Iraqi Board students in this specialty at Mansoura University. The workshop topics included two theoretical and practical topics, the first of which included presenting a scientific lecture by Professor Dr. Ashraf Hafez in which he discussed the repair of ectopic bladder in children in one stage, how to prepare the child for surgery, indicating the optimal year for surgical intervention, the steps of the surgical procedure, and follow-up of the child afterwards, with a review of the results. The researcher has worked over twenty-seven years of experience in this field. During the workshop, some cases of obstetric bladder inversion deformities were presented, presented by Dr. Ahmed Kazem, a specialist in pediatric surgery at the Children Welfare teaching Hospital. Also, in the practical aspect of the workshop, surgery was performed on a pathological case at the Children Welfare teaching Hospital.
