As part of its medical education activities, the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized the workshop entitled “Integrative Education Strategies” on March 7, 2024. The workshop, presented by Professor Dr. Huda Al-Khateeb, aimed to inform teachers and develop their skills to apply integrative education strategies in teaching and mechanisms for overcoming the obstacles that teachers face in teaching. This matter. The workshop included a detailed explanation of interactive education strategies (vertical, horizontal and spiral integration in the integrative curriculum, early clinical exposure and student-centered learning, the SPICES module and how to teach clinical material and teach skills, as well as a brief overview of the integrative exam). The workshop also showed the best ways to apply strategies in the integrated systemic curriculum adopted by the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, and discussed the benefits of integrative education for medical students, the obstacles that teachers face in application, and how to solve them. The workshop included a short break, followed by discussions among the participants about improving performance in these strategies and discussing their practical application.
