High-Level Visit Affirms Support for Medical Education and Infrastructure Development
Guests of Baghdad College of Medicine… Welcome!
With the academic spirit befitting the history and scientific standing of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, the College welcomed the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Al-Zughaibi, and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Dr. Adel Al-Rikabi. This official visit carried significant implications regarding support for prestigious academic institutions and an assessment of the current state of the university and educational environment at the College of Medicine.
The visit included a tour of the College’s halls and facilities, during which the University President and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee were briefed on the ongoing construction and development projects at the College of Medicine. These projects encompass building, renovation, and infrastructure improvements, all aimed at providing a suitable university environment for students and enhancing the requirements of modern medical education.
The visitors commended the significant progress made in urban development and institutional organization within the college, emphasizing the importance of providing robust infrastructure and suitable learning spaces as a cornerstone for supporting students, raising the level of academic performance, and developing the outcomes of medical education in line with the esteemed position and long-standing academic history of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad.
The visit also included a tour of the classrooms and examination halls, where the visitors observed the exam process and the organizational atmosphere. They stressed the importance of providing a calm and organized exam environment that ensures smooth performance and supports students in fulfilling the requirements of their academic journey according to rigorous academic standards.
In another part of the visit, the University of Baghdad College of Medicine Council convened in the presence of the University President and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee. Several topics related to the academic, scientific, and service-related aspects of the college were discussed, along with ways to enhance medical education, support development projects, and solidify the college’s role as one of the oldest and most prestigious academic medical institutions in Iraq.
This visit comes as a confirmation of the status of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad as a leading scientific institution, and out of a keenness to support its academic and infrastructural progress, which enhances its presence in serving medical education, scientific research, and preparing medical generations capable of contributing to the development of the health sector and serving the community.
