The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, held an awareness-raising seminar entitled “Mental Health Security within the University Environment.” The seminar targeted first-year students with the aim of providing them with psychological support and helping them adapt to the demands of university life.

The seminar addressed several important topics relevant to new students, highlighting the transition from school to university and the accompanying changes in academic systems and learning methods. It also introduced the nature of university life and its academic and social requirements.

Furthermore, the seminar discussed the impact of the new university environment on students’ lives, the importance of building psychological balance and adapting positively to academic challenges, and provided practical guidance on managing academic stress and alleviating the psychological pressures students may face at the beginning of their university journey.

The organizers emphasized that such awareness-raising activities contribute to enhancing students’ psychological and physical well-being on campus, preparing them to begin their academic journey with confidence and stability, which positively impacts their academic performance and university life.
