The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad actively participated in the Second Iraqi Conference on Congenital and Structural Heart Diseases, organized by the Iraqi Heart and Chest Society in collaboration with the Iraqi Pediatric Society, on Friday, August 14, 2026. The conference brought together a distinguished group of physicians and professors specializing in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and cardiac surgery from across Iraq.

The conference witnessed a prominent scientific presence from faculty members of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, led by Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Maneh Al-Alwany, Dean of the College, and Professor Dr. Sadiq Mohammed Jiyad Al-Hamash, Consultant in Pediatrics, Cardiac Catheterization, and Congenital Malformations, who served as the conference chair.

The College also participated in the scientific activities of the Second Iraqi Conference on Congenital and Structural Heart Diseases with a distinguished group of professors specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics. These professors delivered lectures and insightful scientific presentations, reflecting the College’s active academic presence in specialized medical forums.

The conference addressed the latest advancements in congenital heart disease in children, cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology, pediatric cardiac surgery, pulmonary hypertension and arrhythmias, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac conditions.
