On Sunday, August 16, 2026, the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission – Department of Education and Public Relations, organized an awareness and educational seminar entitled “Ethics of the Medical and Educational Professions in Protecting Service Sectors Against Extortion.” The seminar was attended by Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Maneh Al-Alwany, Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Thahir Hamidi, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, and a number of faculty members and staff.

The seminar was presented by Senior Legal Advisor Hussein Qasim Ouhid from the Federal Integrity Commission, who highlighted the ethical and professional dimensions of protecting educational and medical institutions, promoting the values ​​of integrity and transparency, and confronting various forms of extortion.

The seminar also covered the Federal Integrity Commission Law and its role in combating corruption, the mechanisms for receiving information and reports according to the Integrity and Illicit Enrichment Law No. (30) of 2011, and the Commission’s preventative role, as well as the responsibility of universities and educational institutions in establishing a safe and ethical work environment.

This seminar comes as part of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad’s commitment to promoting legal and ethical awareness among its members and developing the academic and health work environment in a way that contributes to protecting the institution and serving the community.
