In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the respected President of Baghdad University, Professor Dr. Moneer Hameed Al-Sadi, and representatives from the Presidency of the Republic, the Council of Ministers, the Iraqi Ministry of Health, professors and doctors representing various Arab and foreign entities, as well as a number of deans and directors of formations at Baghdad University, faculty members, and students of the College, Assistant Professor Dr, Ameen Abdul-Hasan Manea Al-Alwany, Dean of the College of Medicine, announced the opening of the 19th International Scientific Conference of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad on Sunday, May 14th.
The conference proceedings began with the Republican salute and a verse from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming speech by the Minister, in which he emphasized the importance of a deliberate expansion in medical specialties, conditional on the availability of the necessary educational hospitals to train students, and stressed the importance of dealing with challenges as opportunities for improvement and providing appropriate solutions and reading the horizons of problems before they occur.
The President of the University, Dr. Al-Sadi, also expressed his welcome to the distinguished attendees, pointing out the achievements of the University represented by the inclusion of a number of medical college journals in Scopus database. He thanked the College's Deanship and Council for the success of the conference in terms of organization and attendance.
In this regard, Dr. Al-Alwany expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the impact of all those involved in organizing and succeeding in the conference.
