The College of Medicine held the inaugural meeting of the Council of the Medical Education Branch, attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Manea Al-Alwany, the Associate Deans for Scientific Affairs and Student Affairs, and the Head of the Medical Education Branch. The meeting was held as part of efforts to organize the branch’s work and activate its academic and administrative role.
The meeting included a comprehensive discussion of the general framework governing the work of the Medical Education Branch and mechanisms for organizing meetings and distributing responsibilities. It also addressed ways to develop educational programs, organize courses and modules, and support training activities and workshops in accordance with the latest practices adopted in medical education.
The meeting further addressed the administrative and organizational aspects related to the branch’s work, including mechanisms for coordination with academic departments, the organization of examinations and statistical records, and the archiving of activities. In addition, the participants discussed quality assurance and academic accreditation requirements, as well as the role of the Medical Education Branch in supporting scientific research and professional development.
The meeting emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering the Medical Education Branch to effectively fulfill its academic and administrative responsibilities, thereby contributing to the improvement of the educational process, enhancing the competency of graduates, and achieving the strategic objectives of the College of Medicine.
