The College of Medicine honors pioneers of science, including retired professors, and praises their effective impact on medical education In a distinguished honorary ceremony held at the College of Medicine, retired professors who contributed their great efforts to supporting the educational process were honoured. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani, extended deep thanks to the retired professors, stressing that they constitute an essential pillar of the College of Medicine. Dr. Ameen pointed out the great impact that these professors left by graduating generations of doctors who studied under them and benefited from their experiences and valuable guidance. He explained that the College of Medicine has always been a beacon of science and education, thanks to the continuous support of professors who faced the darkest circumstances that Iraq went through, and contributed to maintaining the level of medical education in difficult times. The Director General of the Medical City Department, Dr. Hassan Al-Tamimi, also participated in the honor, who praised the contributions of retired doctors to serving science and education. Dr. Al-Tamimi stressed that the giving of these professors is inexhaustible, and that they represent a symbol of sincerity and dedication to work. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani described the Medical City Department as a “loyal neighbor” who provided many services and assistance to students and professors alike, praising the scientific benefit achieved thanks to the continuous cooperation between the College of Medicine and the Medical City Department.
