Dr. Waleed Mustafa Hussein, an experienced professor at the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad and a consultant thoracic surgeon, chairs a scientific session within the activities of the eleventh international conference of the United Iraqi Medical association in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Iraqi doctors from Iraq and abroad countries actively participate in the work of the international conference held in the halls of a hotel Marriott Courtyard in London in the presence of representatives of the Iraqi Embassy in London, the Doctors Syndicate and the British Royal College. The College of Medicine contributes to the conference program with Professor Dr. Waleed Mustafa Hussein chairing one of the scientific sessions and delivering a medical research titled “Rare Pleural Tumors in Iraq” Dr. Waleed spoke in the search for surgical operations for this type of rare tumor, which received great interaction from the attendees. The conference was attended by the interest and presence of the medical and health community in Iraq and Britain, and with prominent press coverage by the Iraqi media of the conference proceedings During the conference, the association’s project was launched The Unied Iraqi Medical Society in protecting the Iraqi child, which includes raising awareness on this important issue and training Iraqi medical and health personnel on the issue of child protection. The main goal of establishing the United Iraqi Medical association is to unify scientific medical efforts in the United Kingdom and Ireland, especially in the outside, as It was established in the year 2017, after successful elections in which large numbers of doctors participated to cast their votes and give confidence to the administrative body headed by Professor Dr. Rafid Ismail Aziz. Within the curriculum of the United Iraqi Medical association in the United Kingdom and Ireland for this year is the organization of the conference in its twelfth edition, which will be held In London on September 21, 2024. A special invitation is extended to the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani, to attend, actively participate, and represent the mother college, College of Medicine, University of Baghdad.
