Iraq achieves a historic medical achievement by obtaining membership in the Asian and Oceanian Myology Center and electing its representative to the Executive Council By obtaining full membership in Asian and Oceanian Myology Center, Dr. Abdul Nasser Hussein Al-Abadi, a lecturer at the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad and Assistant Medical Director at Al-Hadi Center for Muscular and Neurological Diseases affiliated with the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, was elected to represent Iraq on the Executive Council of the Society. This achievement is the first of its kind in the Arab countries, paving the way for Iraqi doctors to communicate and participate in scientific events and research related to the diagnosis and treatment of muscle diseases. Dr. Al-Abadi gave a lecture at the main workshop of the Society, which addressed the reality of the specialty of clinical neurophysiology and neurosciences in Iraq. The lecture also included an ambitious initiative to train doctors from developing and poor countries in the field of neurophysiology, as Iraq expressed its readiness to host them and provide the necessary training. These achievements are the result of several workshops that have extended over the years, in which professors from advanced countries such as Britain and Singapore participated. The recent period witnessed the visit of Professor Nishino Ishizu, the current president of the association, to the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, and his participation in presenting a workshop for doctors and board students.
