The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad has continued to administer the ministerial assessment exams for sixth-year medical students. This initiative aligns with the institution’s ongoing efforts to enhance academic rigor and elevate the standards of medical education in Iraq.

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the ministerial assessment exam in Pediatrics was conducted. The exam witnessed the participation of 28  medical colleges from various Iraqi universities, with a total turnout of 11,048 students, including 877 students from the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad.

The exams were held under the supervision of the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges in Iraq, chaired by Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Al-Alwany. Field monitoring was conducted by Professor Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Aidany, Dean of Al-Kindi College of Medicine, alongside Assistant Professor Dr. Ameer Dhahir Hameedi, Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the College of Medicine.

Furthermore, reciprocal supervisory committees were deployed across the participating medical institutions, reflecting academic integration and a shared commitment to implementing the highest standards of quality and transparency in assessment exams.

Previously, on May 14, 2026, the college successfully administered the ministerial assessment exam in Internal Medicine, as part of the approved exam schedule for sixth-year students.

The College of Medicine reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a structured and precise exam environment. Such efforts contribute to preparing future physicians equipped with the scientific competence and clinical skills necessary to serve the healthcare sector and advance the trajectory of medical education in Iraq.
