In a further affirmation of the distinguished scientific standing of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad at both the Arab and regional levels, Professor Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman, Consultant of Internal Medicine and Respiratory Diseases and a faculty member at the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, represented the Republic of Iraq at one of the most prominent Arab scientific and medical events. This participation was officially delegated by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Health Ministers – the Arab Board of Health Specialties – the Scientific Council of Internal Medicine, and followed the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Professor Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman participated in the final clinical examination for students of the Scientific Council of Internal Medicine (Arab Board), hosted by Cairo University – Kasr El Aini Hospitals on July 3rd and 4th. He contributed, along with a select group of senior Arab professors and experts, to evaluating candidates for the Arab Board certification in Internal Medicine.
From July 5th to 7th, he also participated in the program for accrediting Egyptian university hospitals as approved training centers for Arab Board students specializing in internal medicine. This program included visits to and evaluations of several leading medical and academic institutions, namely: Cairo University (Faculty of Medicine – Kasr El Aini Hospitals), Zagazig University, Mansoura University, Tanta University, Ain Shams University, the Heart Center, the Kidney Center, and the Liver Center.
The significance of this participation lies in the fact that Professor Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman was the sole representative of the Republic of Iraq at this prestigious Arab medical event. This reflects the high level of confidence placed in Iraqi academic and medical expertise and underscores the pioneering role of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad in supporting specialized medical education and contributing to the development of training, accreditation, and specialty examination standards across the Arab world.
This participation is a continuation of the distinguished scientific presence of the faculty members of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad at regional and international forums. It also embodies the college’s commitment to supporting academic excellence and strengthening scientific cooperation with Arab medical institutions, thereby contributing to raising the quality of medical education and serving the health sector in Iraq and the region.
