College of Medicine, University of Baghdad Establishes an Integrated Roadmap for Sixth-Stage Students

The College of Medicine Council at the University of Baghdad held a meeting with the heads of clinical departments, chaired by the Dean of the College and Head of the Council, and attended by the Vice Deans for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Student Affairs, and Administrative Affairs, on Thursday, July 9th, to discuss preparations for the clinical training program for sixth-year medical students.

The meeting included a discussion of the clinical training plan and coordination mechanisms with teaching hospitals to ensure the launch of the training program according to a comprehensive academic vision, contributing to enhancing students’ clinical skills and preparing them for highly efficient medical practice.

The attendees also approved a comprehensive study program for the sixth year, based on the early commencement of clinical training modules, with a focus on the practical aspects, in line with the requirements of modern medical education and achieving the highest levels of scientific and practical benefit.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the training program, a clear action plan was developed, including direct meetings between department heads and sixth-year students. These meetings aimed to explain the schedule during the summer break and the mechanisms for attending training regularly, thus ensuring clear instructions, completion of the curriculum, and comprehensive and effective coverage of the academic program.

This meeting aligns with the directives of the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, which seek to enhance the quality of medical education, strengthen clinical training, and prepare students with the scientific and practical competence to meet academic and professional standards.
