The College of Medicine Council, in its eleventh session, strengthens the educational process and honors distinguished academic leaders.

The College of Medicine Council held its eleventh session, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan Al-Alwany, and attended by the council members, to discuss several academic and organizational matters related to developing the educational process and enhancing institutional performance within the college.

During the session, the council addressed a number of issues related to academic and educational aspects. Emphasis was placed on monitoring the progress of lectures and ensuring student attendance and academic discipline, thereby guaranteeing a high academic standard and enhancing the quality of educational outcomes at the college.

The council also discussed the early commencement of preparations for the study plan for the upcoming academic year and the need to prepare its academic and organizational requirements now, within a vision aimed at developing study programs and keeping pace with advancements in medical education.

In the context of keeping pace with technological developments, the council discussed the digital transformation initiative and the importance of adopting electronic transactions in administrative and academic work. Emphasis was placed on activating modern digital systems, such as Human Resources (HR) systems and Student Information Systems (SIS), due to their speed in processing transactions, accuracy in data management, and support for a modern university work environment.

At the conclusion of the session, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul-Hassan  Al-Alwany, honored:

Professor Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman on the occasion of the completion of his term as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Professor Dr. Shatha Farouk Abdullah on the occasion of the completion of her term as Head of the Department of Microbiology.

This honor was bestowed in recognition of their significant efforts and distinguished scientific and administrative contributions during their tenures as heads of their respective departments. Their academic expertise and effective management contributed to the development of scientific work, the organization of the academic process, and the enhancement of performance levels within their departments, in addition to supporting scientific and research activities and serving students and faculty.

During the ceremony, the Dean commended their sincere efforts and continuous contributions, which have had a clear positive impact on the academic and administrative work. He emphasized that these efforts represent a professional model that reflects a spirit of responsibility and belonging to the academic institution.

The council concluded its session by affirming its commitment to continuing to work as a unified team and fostering a progressive educational environment that contributes to preparing competent medical professionals capable of serving the community.
